                                                  GENERAL RULES FOR COMPETITIONS  

Our competitions are held for the sole purpose of encouraging new work and improving standards.  

1.    All members may enter their own work.
2.    Entries may be home or trade processed.
3.    Entries shall not be more than three years old. 
4.    Prints or digital images (Pdi’s) entered in a competition may not be entered in a subsequent year in the same 
        category.
5.    Prints should be mounted on substantial board, not larger than 20"x 16" or smaller than 10"x 8".
6.    IMPORTANT Prints must have the image TITLE, members name and/or membership number on the reverse side at   
        the top.
7.    Digital images for projection (Pdi’s). Resize image to width 1400 pixels x height 1050 pixels. Save as file name:
        TITLE   by  AUTHOR in Jpeg with maximum quality. 
8.    Members may enter 3 prints and 3 Pdi’s in all competitions.
9.    Please email all Pdi’s to PPGphoto1992@gmail.com and deliver prints to Mike Gray.
10. For the Birchgrove Nature Challenge Competition, the image may include all animals, plants and other things in the 
        world that are not made by people and all the events and processes that are not caused by people.  Acceptable
        examples may include all animals, wild or domestic in captivity or in an enclosure. Cultivated flowers and plants  in
        the garden etc.
        Exclusions: Where the main emphasis of the image is a bridge, a road, a man made structure etc.

Guidelines on how to create a JPEG file using Adobe Photoshop/Elements are available upon request and are also shown in our Handbook.
